It feels like Ruti got a much more raw deal for her blessing of the hero, The hero blessing blocked her emotions, her need to eat or drink, even her ability to sleep, but it seems like this "hero" still has his emotions, and he's been unconscious. I can't remember if I've seen him eat or drink in this season.
