Alright, let's get started on chapter 3! I'm pretty dang excited for this chapter and I have a lot of new stuff planned for it, so let's dive right in.
New Addition 1: Worked on assets for bartending mini-game
I've been revisiting the games Coffee Talk and VA-11 Hall-A recently, and I wanted to try making a drink maker type of mini-game for fun.
Step one was drawing all the assets and stuff:
All the ingredients (bottles & other items) are on a separate layer from the background art so that I can put borders around them when the mouse cursor hovers over them.
Here is what they look like in the game engine:
I also drew some more character portraits:
If anyone wants to name the guy on the far right, feel free.
He's kinda a jerk, though. I really tried to make a more manly character, I really did, but I feel like I messed up somewhere. Well, gotta start somewhere. I like how stern Sasha looks, though, hehe.
New Addition 2: Work on script
I have a feeling this script is going to turn out to be pretty long, but I realize that I say that every time. I have the first 1/4th of the script done, I'd say. But I still need to write the bar interactions, sex scene, and after-sex dialogue.
New Addition 3: Plan, plan, plan
So...planning a game is hard work! I usually get caught up in details and lose track of the plot somewhere down the line. Thus, I've started using a program called Master Plan for my projects (not sponsored, lol) and it has really helped me visualize stuff. It's a lot easier than constantly scrolling up and down a markdown file, that's for sure. I'd like to know what big studios use, honestly, because a lot of people have to be on the same page, right?
