Well, yeah, but no. In later scenes, Lydia "pays" for her groceries by leaving a note of what she took and adding to a small pile of money for other stuff she "bought" before. Her position is that looting is a crime and she's an honest customer buying stuff like one would when the owner is not behind the cash register.
