I know it's been less than a week since I released the bugfix/update, but with the majority of the database worked out (sorting out the items, armors, weapons, and even states has been incredibly helpful for development) I've been able to resume a more natural development routine. As such, I plan on posting weekly status updates, which will really just be weekly goal checks for myself, that I make public. I think this will better help me organize what I'm doing/need to do while allowing me to see if I'm actually meeting my goals in a timely manner. Hopefully I am, we'll see.

I've finished, well I've been finished, the 2nd meeting with Laura (the next step in the game after v0.03b) and I'm currently working on porting over or creating any maps I'll need for the remaining portion of the prologue/demo. That includes the following maps:

  • West Mountain Beach Plaza: I've ported over this mapset, which is an overworld map (the plaza) including "Munchies" an unmapped grocery store, and The Dope Shop. I need to update the tiles for the shop (totally forgot about this) but the greenhouse and everything in it is fully ported over. Somebody was nice enough to create some weed sprites for me, sadly they won't work for this particular greenhouse but I'll see them used later. Why I even did this shit now is unknown to me because you can't even go into the damn greenhouse in the prologue... 
  • The Dojo: I've ported this mapset over in full but there is one new map I need to create.
  • The Megaplex: Formerly the mall, I'm more or less done with the 3 base floors and now I need to add the 5 or so shops that will be accessible specifically for the prologue. There are currently 10 planned locations for the player to visit. More may be added if needed. 
  • Van Nuts Studios: I've ported over the maps but I haven't actually setup the tiles for the map to work properly. I might leave it as is or upgrade it, I'll figure out once I get to it.
  • The Police Station: I need to port over the MV maps, may upgrade them, and create additional maps.
  • The Northern Forest: I've already ported over this mapset but I need to add the additional features I have planned.
  • Surprise Location: I need to create it. The mystery!
  • The Pleasure Palace: I've ported over the map but I need to fix the tiles and upgrade it!
  • The Temple of Lust: I've not ported over these maps yet but I'll probably leave them more or less as is when I do.

Once I get all the maps ported/created I can move on to actually mapping out the events and adding the rest of the combat. The Northern Forest will receive a slight upgrade, which is why I didn't throw it in there as I want it to be a surprise, but it won't be too much different from before. However, The Pleasure Palace will be a full blown dungeon, complete with monsters and a familiar, maybe, boss. The enemies will be harder than the ones in the forest, the game will tell the player this as well, so I hope you enjoy the combat as you'll be doing a lot of fighting.

My goal for this week is to finish all the maps. That's it. If I can do that, I'm in good shape. It might not seem like it would, but maps take a good bit of time create. At least they do for me. It's also a good idea I decided to set these goals out because I forgot I had to create some of the shit I need to create... (Looking back on it, because I forgot some extra shit, yeah, after the shit I had already forgotten, I dunno if a week is going to be enough time for me to get all those maps done. We shall see.)
