Concept Art (Patreon)

Hey! Happy Monday! Today I wanted to show you a little concept art of the enchanting lamps and shrines we made for this update. They're scattered throughout the expanded section of the forest and their appearance changes depending on the time of day. To get a bit into the symbolism behind these lamps, I have to tell you a little bit of the story behind Peach Hills.

Peach Hills was built on what once was a battlefield. Many battles were fought in this land leaving a mark on its history. These lamps and shrines stand as heartfelt tributes to the fallen soldiers and revered Magisters. The more recent lamps commemorate the many squad leaders and magisters fallen throughout the years. The lamps have a magical orb within, that shines for many years until eventually, as these lamps get buried by the earth, the orb makes contact with the soil, making it its last day on Earth. It then takes flight, ascending to become an eternal shine in the sky.  

The last image is a concept of the central ancient tree of the Village. This tree also has an important role in Peach Hills. It is the main source of magical energy for the entire village. At night, symbols and markings glow on its branches and trunk, surrounding the village with mystery. I'll show you a video later.
