Please do watch the Producers (released May 2015). that was the most eagerly awaited drama that year which featured an incredible array of cameos look behind the K entertainment industry. Cindy is the leader of PINK4 but she might as well be the alter universe career trajectory had IU ends up on one of the big 3 entertainment such as SM or YG and ends up like some warped version of Black Pink with the runaway soloist. 'Heart' was the first song I truly fell in love with her music and felt it really distinguished her as the rare exceptional artist from the Kpop world in how pure, simple, unspoiled, and sincere it sounded. It was such a fascinating piece of KPOP that remains unpolluted by the industry who tends to overproduce their music to show off the production value, music/singing techniques or following the latest crowd-pleasing rhythmic trends. It has the sort of shy demure sensitivities and uniqueness that can only be written by a young girl with a pure heart, rather than usual record producers/makers who show off personal stamps/signatures to justify earning the big bucks.

I still think your interpretation of Zeze wasn't that wrong... In my opinion, the whole Chat-Shire album seems to shout about change, growth, awareness and sexuality (in the good way. I hope to express myself well, because in Italian I know better how to choose words, but in English I do what I can ...). I have not followed IU for a very long time, but I have already faced the whole journey that you are now facing, and despite the obvious obstacle of the language, I immediately had the feeling that IU has always recurring themes in its songs, even when they are a little hidden in the background. Themes such as time, change, self-perception, the perception that others have, choices, self-esteem... Since she was a girl she has always had this "obsession" with her own image: for example, she has never considered herself cute (strange to think), but in order to promote her, they decided to make IU "cute". It must have been difficult for her to clear herself from the "pure and innocent" image and establish herself as a mature and sentient human being. Not for nothing is she so excited about leaving her 20s and entering her 30s. I believe your interpretation of this 23 is perfect in both versions (IU and Cindy). IU enters adulthood softly and with a candid smile, "hiding/manifesting" in "ChatShire" (and also in "Spring of a 20 years old" and "Modern Times") what explodes inside her, while Cindy hasmore the attitude of "adolescent" rebellion. Perhaps Lee Ji Eun chose that character precisely because it allowed her that pinch of aggression towards the world that the character-IU cannot afford. I'm sorry I wrote so much ... and it's not even a tenth of my thoughts on the subject 😅

Having been watched the 'The Producers' after I listening and watching to twenty three (Cindy version) I didn't think it was about just sexy times mainly because I was wreck, it was/she was too hot to handle for me at that time! So nope, I wasn't able to think about things. Then I immediately watched The Producers and realized that that song and that performance is much more complex! You'd be delighted to watch that show even though the story rolls between 4 different people (including her). I can't help but think that she chose the role because it will allow her to be someone who's got the same job as her, an idol at that time, but with a complete opposite attitude and personality.

As an actress, IU must be excited and strongly demanding for the diversity of the characters she would play. I am totally stunned by her versatile talents after watching this performance and drama “producer “. She demonstrated she is capable of portraying the complexity of Cindy via the acting and several different genres ost for this drama. She proofed she can handle the sexy , seductive concept song with straight movement and lyrics to present the image of Cindy’s which is opposite to Iu‘s metaphor style. However , the smooth of vocal and body line and dramatic tension is still very IU. She was in it in a different way.
