This is a piece I did quite awhile back, with the ultimate intent of painting it. (I've been without a decent painting setup since we moved to our current location...a long time ago.) I've always really liked this image, partly because I find fat little animals adorable, though I know it's not healthy for them. While cleaning it for posting I noticed something interesting (to me at least): the inking is much looser than my comic inking. If you enlarge the image, you'll see what I mean; it's much sketchier, more spontaneous. It doesn't look like the person inking it had a 2x4 up his ass at the time. As I've stated in the past, I wish I could unclench enough while inking comics to approach this kind of look. The funny thing is, I don't usually ink in my fine art.  Of course, my fine art is rarely seen by anyone. Maybe that's the difference.
