Here is your Shining deep dive and just in time for Halloween. Clay Vandiver and I explore all aspects of this film, from possible inspirations, the casting, the writing process and what actually ended up on screen.

As an added bonus, we explore whether Frank Lloyd Wright's life partially inspired the film; Kubrick's loathing for Stephen King; and why the director never wanted to adapt King's novel. Making this film clearly effected Kubrick on a personal level. It's my belief that Kubrick's disdain for the source material led him to embracing a truly occult form of filmmaking.
