My journey to Astro Gnosis 2023 began in earnest yesterday. As is often the case when I embark upon these things, unexpected chaos beset the early stages. Case in point, as I lay my head down to sleep the night before,  a load, foundation shacking thud unsettled me. The next morning, I discovered that thud was caused by a tree crashing into the cabin.

Fortunately, there was no serious damage and I was able to depart just an hour behind. And as fate would have it, JJ Vance pointed out an unrecognized opportunity: I'd be just a little over an hour from Serpent Mound for summer solstice. I've talked about doing this for years, but it hadn't occurred to me that the chance had finally arrived when I made my plans. It just happened to work out. So, thank you JJ and the Fates.

While they visibility wasn't great, it was nonetheless special to be there for Midsummer's Day.

And remember folks, it's not too late to get your tickets for Astro Gnosis 2023. Both physical and online options are available. Would love to see you guys in Chicago. But regardless, have a blessed Midsummer's Day.
