It was quite a rogue's gallery for this one. Farm regulars Vincent Treewell and Clay Vandiver were already set to join me for this one. But Mark Palmer from My Family Thinks I'm Crazy was also in the house and offering up some striking insights.

This was a synch heavy show, in which we explored everything from sacred to geometry to ritual murder, the films of David Lynch, and the good ole Mothman/Thunderbird archetype. Major Wisconsin meccas of high weirdness such as Taliesin, House on the Rock, the Dells, and La Crosse were explored. The Society of Cincinnati's role in shape the whole region was addressed, and how this is evident in cities like Madison, WI. The power of architecture and the role men like Frank Lloyd Wright played in shaping the zeitgeist of the modern era was explored.

There's a lot of great stuff here. The chat was so wide-ranging that I'm going to have Clay and Vincent back next month to wrap it up. We didn't even get around to the incredible experiences we had in Whitewater/Elkhorn. Slender Man and the Beast of Bray Road converging? In that trip, they did. More on that next month.

Always, I hope you guys enjoy!

WTF? Mendota was built AROUND an ancient peoples' mound structure? I can't figure out if that's intentionally deliberate, (i.e. insidious) or bafflingly ignorant. As a person who believes in the spirit of place, I can't guess as to why you'd want to put mentally ill people in close proximity to a former hotbed of spiritual activity. I guess those doctory types just don't equate the two at all? Makes me wonder about the placement of ALL so-called "mental" institutions in this country. You got your Oakwood, down here in KY that Pennyroyal has been diving into...I bet there's more. Be interested to see asylum locations all along the various route 23s and/or the 37th parallel...
