Parapolitics, Economics, and Magick w/ Gordon White & Recluse (Patreon)

The guest for this outing hardly needs an introduction around these parts. He is Gordon White, among the most celebrated magicians active today. He gets up to other things as well. Gordon is the author of Star. Ships: A Prehistory of Spirits and The Chaos Protocols: Magical Techniques for Navigating the New Economic Reality. He's also the longtime curator of the Rune Soup blog and host of the corresponding podcast.

Along with Christopher Knowles of The Secret Sun, Gordon is my favorite political commentator. Yes folks, if you want relevant political commentary in 2021, best ask a mystic. And that's exactly what I did for this outing.

We start off with a little Havana syndrome and nonlethal weapons musings to warm up. From there, we get into the Great Power struggle proper. How important are current developments with Taiwan and the Ukraine? Is war with China and/or Russia inevitable?

Next up is our economics section. What does the future hold for cryptocurrencies and central bank digital currencies (CBDCs)? Is this the end of the banking sector as we know it? How fucked is Europe with its "green" infrastructure?

After revisiting a few classic Rune Soup "Whisky Rant" posts, we move onto the weirdness.
