Hello dear patrons! It's been a long time since my last post; sorry for that. Anyway, I wanted to post an update on how Zenith of Sorcery is going. Even though I still haven't started posting chapters for it, work on it has continued and has borne fruit. I have made a story plan I'm satisfied with and have started writing test chapters. I am going to try producing something concrete by the end of next month, so if things go well the story might officially start next month.

Additionally, I have a new worldbuilding post for you while you wait! It's a bit of an experimental one, written more as my own musings that the sort of in-universe article that I previously used. You can find it here:

https://motheroflearninguniverse.wordpress.com/2021/03/28/politics-of-altazia-part-1/

And there you have it. I want to thank you all for remaining patient with me all this time. I am continually surprised how many people are willing to wait for a year for me to start posting again, and I hope your trust in me is not misplaced.

Also, because I am asked this fairly frequently: yes, I am indeed working on getting Mother of Learning published in ebook format. It's coming, though I can't be more specific than that. I will notify you about the relevant details when I can.

Out of curiosity, will the Mother of Learning book contain any more of an epilogue than what you have already written and made available? Always like reading what they decide(d) to do after the main story ended :)

No, I'm unlikely to add more epilogue. While I understand people's desire to know more about what happens after the story ends, it's kind of outside the scope of the story as I conceived it. If I ever decide to write about that, it will be in the theoretical sequel that people have asked me about (and which may or may not happen at some point in the distant future).

Great to hear!

Good news, all round. :)

That article was very good world building advice. I'm still trying to condense the wisdom there in.

Oh please, Dom. It's effortless to do nothing (and not cancel our pledges) all this while. You should change to monthly charges - that's what being a patron is all about. Those that want to pay per chapter can buy the ebook later

Hah, sweet. Went and tossed in a dollar on Patreon to be able to comment again, can't wait 'till the story's finally out.

will the ebook have a new cover or one of the fanmade covers? Who are you publishing with, or are you selfpublishing? Will their be a physical version (specifically in leather that I can put on my bookshelf)? Will the book be split into 3 (which I think it should, since it has two nice big WOW moments that make great cliffhangers)? I have more questions, but don't want to overwhelm you with them.

nobody103

I can't answer most of those since I'm negotiations with people and I don't know what I can and cannot say to my fans. If the talks fall through, I will go with self-publishing. The book will be split into 3 parts, yes.

Yay, I am looking forward to two sets of new content from you, a new series and the ebooks.

Why is there so much difficulty to publish it? I would think a book at the top of reading websites would rise the interest of someone?

nobody103

I'm trying to do some edits of the text before publishing it, and I'm unwilling to take the story down from the internet which complicates things a little. My inexperience play a role too, as it took me a while to actually understand what I need to do. That said, I did raise interest in some people. We'll see what comes out of it. Contract negotiations take time.

Personally, i think you have a goldmine in your fiction. I introduced my family to your work and all of them loved it.

wait i have a question is zenith of sorcery in the same universe a MoL?

nobody103

It's not intended to, no. Though the magic system will have a fair amount of similarities, because why change what works?
