Another chapter, another delay. This really has become the new normal, I guess. :(

Anyway, the chapter is delayed for a week. The new chapter target date is 7th of July.

Well, yes. Now you need to start apologizing when on time.

That would indeed be fun :p Quite worth the wait for yet another matured chapter though.

You should name one of the chapters Delayed, just to mess with people.

Hmm, wasn't this suggested once already? I remember replying to something like this in recent past, but now I can't find it. In any case, I sometimes do get an urge to mess with my readers in a chapter, usually through obscure references, but I mostly resist the urge. Mostly.

You do you mate! We're happy to wait!

Pengcheng Liu You should name a chapter Delayed, just to mess with people :) 3w Domagoj Kurmaic I already use cliffhangers to mess with people, no need to add more stuff. All things in moderation! :) Though there was that time I posted the chapter titled 'Complications' on RR while forgetting to put a number in front of it. That definitely scared some people, unintentional as it was.

Yeah, that's what I remembered. Where was that comment chain made, again? I can't seem to find it.

Ah, I see now - patreon doesn't give me all comments in a post when I click on it. It gives me a fraction, and then I have to click on a little text note 'snowing 16 out of 25 messages' to get the full thing. Well that's kind of... stupid. Anyway, thanks for solving that little mystery for me. It was kind of bothering me.

I think you should not put a date if it is not going to be respected. You decide when to publish, but it is annoying that you say a date and then do not respect it.

I originally thought the same as you and did not put any dates at all, but people overwhelmingly thought I *should* put a target date and urged me to do so. Many of them are far more bothered by the uncertainty and lack of communication than me missing a few target dates. Considering I did get substantially faster after I started putting up target dates (originally, it was not unknown for the new chapter to take as much as two months), I am relatively pleased I accepted their urging.

If I had to choose between no deadlines versus deadlines that aren't always met plus communication, I'd definitely go with the deadlines. I don't mind the chapters taking much longer than expected and I quite like how it the communication builds a small community and keeps people a little engaged.
