Here it is people - the next chapter. Sorry for the wait.

Also, I'd like to note that I have recently opened a paypal account, since some people have told me they're not so enthused about employing patreon anymore in the wake of their (now reverted) payment changes. I'll see about posting relevant links once I figure out how that actually works...

Mother of Learning Chapter 80: Enemies, a fantasy fiction | FictionPress

Although the Xlotic desert was usually depicted as an endless sea of sand, with only occasionally broken up rocky outcroppings or secluded oases, its actual landscape was more far complex than that. There was plenty of sand, yes, but also vast fields of rock, barren hills and mountain ranges, remnants of dried-up lakes and riverbeds, and old Ikosian ruins scattered all over the place.

Your cliffhangers hurt more than actual wounds sometimes, I love it :D

When I heard about the training exercise and saw there was hardly any chapter left, I began to fear the wait of the next three weeks. And then that ending. Oh man oh man

Matthew M

Damn wonderful ending, favorite in many, many chapters.

Satya Prateek

Well fuck, that cliffhanger should be judged illegal

Roman

Uh dat cliffhanger... I actually like that this chapter is a late and the next one will be 3 days sooner.

Adrien Matricon

Thanks for the chapter ! By the way I spotted a few typos (is there a right way to report them to you? I spotted one in the previous chapter too but I'm not sure you saw my comment): - "its actual landscape was more far complex" should be "its actual landscape was far more complex" - "Zach and Zorian was" should be "Zach and Zorian were" - "the each sulrothum" should be "each sulrothum" I hope that helps

WOHOOOO, I was looking for something to read to wind down and BAM new chapter

I take everything back, how could you end this with such a cliffhanger!! ._. (jk)

Bruno Salque

There are still several chapters, I hope ... no ? (I love this chapter too, and am pumped up for the next one)

Reporting them here is fine. I get few enough comments that I read every one.

Couple of typos: chap 75: "to see why he missed breakfast and found his dead" - should be "... him dead". Chap 74: "I could dispute that, but I am feeling generous today," she Zorian. - Should be ... "said Zorian."

Domago The family is enjoying the book immensely. to cut down on fees I have made a 1 off Patron of the cost of a book retail here in Australia. and have dropped out of Patron. dropping out is in no way a reflection of our enjoyment. I trust you will be able to get to the end in due time. Looking forward to each new chapter. Great twist and the end of the last chapter. We all discussed it and had our owne take on what it would mean. Sweet.

Will Stein - FWIW, the word count on Mother of Learning is around 600K which is roughly equivalent to 4-5 standard books (the entire Harry Potter saga, 7 books, is ~1M words).

I'm very busy with other things at the moment, hence my long silence on the topic. Sorry about that, I will totally get back to it eventually.

Domago good to know about word count. I want to make sure how I support you gets the most to you. Thanks again it's a great read to have with my boys.

Anonymous

For the record, it was a fan and not the author who mentioned the word count. :)
