Hey Jason, Thank you for your message. I'm happy to help. Patreon is a membership platform for creators and artists to make a sustainable income. In that spirit, we require that all memberships are tied to a card with a continual funding source (i.e. credit card, or bank account). In the past prepaid gift cards were sometimes accepted by our payment processors; however, moving forward you'll need to add a valid credit card, or PayPal account for your membership payments. You can update your payment method any time you're logged in by visiting your Payment Methods page. If you'd like assistance updating your payment method, check out this article from our help center: How do I update my payment information? Having said this, I understand how using a prepaid gift card for your memberships on Patreon may desirable. While there is no guarantee that it will result in a change, I've shared your experience with the rest of my team to keep in mind moving forward.

Donny (Patreon) Sep 17, 1:19 PM PDT I wish I had better news, but you are correct. You need to have an attached credit card or bank account in order for pledges to work, at this time. We are looking into more flexible options, but at this time, we don't have a way to support gift cards. hi Jason. This is really bad news (which happen again and again on behalf of Patreon). Just to clarify - you added prepaid card to Paypal (and you activated card well in Paypal), but you can't use this card as Paypal payment method for Patreon?

This is crazy. And yes, I'm stressed a lot with all the changes that make it harder and harder for people to actually support someone. Restricting payments more and more is an opposite things to what any creator expects of patreon team :( I might advise to look for payoneer if that is suitable for you.

I looked into payoneer .I don’t have a bank account .and I don’t understand how it works. Like how to add funds and is there a penalty for zero funds. I don’t want to mess up my credit. What gets me is they did away with gift cards, and I can’t use my wife’s and I credit card for an adult game. I lay low now I can’t play im so pissed. Are you on any other platforms besides Patreon we’re I could pay for the latest release

Some time ago I wanted to partially move to subscribeStar, but apparently they are having the same issue with paypal right now. Big anti-adult crusade or something I have no idea where to switch right now, frankly speaking. Have you ever supported anyone at subscribeStar, does your card work there?
