So glad you loved it :) it's maybe the least subtle movie ever made but I think that's why it works so well. I do think maybe the ending is a bit rushed, and kinda loses the metaphor a little bit, you can't solve white supremacy by just turning bigots black.. But I don't mind much, still a fantastic film with amazing performances, music, cinematography etc My one other quibble, I want to know what he told his real mom after the conversation we saw, "oh by the way, your daughter lives in the TV now" is not gonna be the easiest pill to swallow 😂.

I love this movie, and glad you did too. I haven't watched it in a long time, so it was a nice rewatch. All the social commentary/parodi on soaps/tv series of the 50/(early) 60s and real life too even up till today in a way(being so White with people of colour in the background/not acknowledged, not acknowledging life outside the city, reminds me of Hairspray and the Truman show, that you watched, and it trying so hard to be their version of "perfect", that it's annoying, and things cracking under the surface while trying to keep up apperances.) David fits right in at first knowing everything/every episode of his supposed favorite show, so he can help his sister navigate through it.
