Great reaction! Maybe this is why I like watching reactions so much, I get to see someone else freak out about the episode as much as I did :) I loved this episode, even if it was hard to watch at points. The Kakwet (I'm probably spelling that wrong) storyline was heartbreaking, after everything she did to get home, and they just drag her back the next episode. It's even harder to watch knowing it actually happened to so many people, and not that long ago. A couple weeks ago, a FB friend of mine was sharing other people's posts talking about their relatives who were in these schools, and what's been on the show doesn't seem too far off. The scene with the gunmen outside the school had me really stressed out, and watching them point the guns at Anne, and then Matthew getting in between… It was really well done, and especially well acted by the actor for Matthew. I really love that they're doing this story, as hard as it is to see. I'd also like to think there was some current political commentary in Matthew's "taking children from their parents" line... I also liked the story with Bash's mother. I still don't like the character, but at least she's got really good reason for acting the way she does. She really was just trying to protect him, and her view of white people is that they killed her husband for wanting pretty much what Bash is doing now. She was just trying her best, it just didn't end up the way she wanted. Also, I really ship Bash and Ms. Stacy :) And then there's Anne and Gilbert. This episode really was all about missed connections, and that letter sequence was stressful. It's like the universe is against them or something. I don't think divorces are allowed in this time, so I only see three options. 1) Gilbert proposes to Winnie and she says no, 2) Gilbert chooses last minute not to propose, or 3) Gilbert proposes and she says yes, and then the engagement breaks next season. Thing is, I think they're kind of constrained by the book storyline, and I don't remember what happens in the book. They've also veered away from the original in several ways, just not with the Anne/Gilbert part. Plus, there are other reasons I really hope they don't follow through with the original, but we'll find out next episode. You're right about this week, it's gonna be a really long one :)
