I laughed so much at your reaction to Jonathan/Sebastian kissing Clary. Jonathon struggles a lot with his emotions and after being in Edom for so long with demons, it’s very hard for him to understand what love it. He had a difficult time with separating family love from romantic love and he doesn’t know how to express his emotions properly and I think this episode showed that. As far as Alec and Magnus, I understand where Alec is coming from but I think Magnus is completely correct. Alec told Isabelle, Jace and even CLARY (who’s he’s never really gotten along with) the first chance he got but he had a dinner with Magnus and didn’t even attempt to tell him. Alec had also said that he would have complete transparency with the Downworld and he’s keeping one of the hugest secrets from them and not following his own word. Next episode is a wild ride

As much as I understand where Alec is coming from, I’m on Magnus’s side Cz Alec created this cabinet meetings with the sole purpose of transparency and improving the relationship with the downworlders. So the very second he found out he should have been transparent. Now i know he had no ill intentions for keeping it but look at things from the downworlders point of view, they have been lied to several times by the Clave etc so Alec keeping this huge secrets only feels like history repeating itself again

Hey Jay! Welcome to 2x17! My personal favorite episode of the series (with 2x18 a VERY close second.) I couldn't stop smiling when you were watching the Jonathan/Clary kissing scene. Try to understand that Jonathan does not associate mundane(human) morals and laws with Shadowhunters. (especially when it comes to Clary) In the books it's more talked about but Jonathan does not associate brother/sister sibling love with Clary. He truly loves Clary. Romantically. He's in love with his sister and not ashamed of it. In the books it goes much more into explaining it but Jonathan sees Clary as his and that they are meant to be together. There is no one more that he values in the world than her and that's why he's so desperate for her approval and love back. Let me say this loud and clear: JONATHAN LOSES ALL SENSE OF CONTROL WHEN IT COMES TO CLARY. She is his breaking point. And she is also his weakness. Now I expected you to freak out about the kiss because of incest but quite frankly, I absolutely love the incestuous elements of Jonathan/Sebastian and Clary's relationship. It's SO important to who he is for his character and makes the books (and now the show) SO complex and intriguing to watch. And for all of you who think I'm gross and twisted for shipping them romantically, I can confidently say I'm not sorry at all and they're the only two characters I've ever shipped incest with. So yes you can all hate me but I love what I love. (Plus the actors chemistry is off the charts compared to that of Clary and Simon and Clary and Jace.) Can't wait for you to watch 2x18! It will break your heart!

Meagan, I don't ship them but I can understand your reasoning. And you're right about one thing: she does have more chemistry with him than with Jace.
