Great reaction, that final scene is so powerful. I guess one of the reasons Damon couldn't be there for lighting the candles as he killed the first two people mentioned, in fact he bore some responsibility in many of the lives lost. Him lighting candles to mourn them would have made him a hypocrite, I also think it made him feel guilty. It wasn't right for him to be there. Instead we get the amazing Dalaric moment. Elena's reaction to April proved Damon was right about her needing to control the bloodlust first. It doesn't mean not going on the bunny diet, it just means the only way to prevent her from killing is to teach her how to not kill when feeding. She'd just fed and still couldn't control herself. The problem is Stefan (understandably) wants to be the one to get Elena through the transformation, but he can barely control it himself. But again, his control is because he's experienced the bloodlust. Even Caroline had to experience it first. The problem Stelena have right now is that they've been split up for 6 months and Elena has been used to going to Damon for everything, he's been her best friend and her rock. Should it really be a shock that she'd turn to Damon for help when she knows Stefan isn't in a position to help? Elena trusts Damon implicitly, and she didn't give him much choice when she said no animal or human blood. I like how Tyler took one for the team. Connor is one of my least favourite characters in the entire show (almost as bad as Jules), but I love these episodes, they're some of my favourites in the entire show.

Stefan is such a little asshole in S4. I swear to God. I'm saying this even though he's actually my fave TVD character. This was the only season I sat through thinking "I genuinely hate him." This episode was kind of the start of it. Anyways Delena forever.
