EPISODE 01: Operation Flying Dutchman 39 (Patreon)

Suddenly I’m back in the helicopter. I’m trapped in Luna’s arms and Baram stands guard over me, gun in hand. There is a third woman here. I don’t know her but I recognize her voice when she speaks. It’s the commanding voice from the intercom back at the interrogation center.

“Her mind is a mess. The Hex overlapped with … something else. Another memory. One that is close enough to create a divergent trigger and different enough to confuse the fuck out of her response.”

“Yeah, when I got out of the pool after dealing with Nyx she came at me, fangs and claws at the ready.” Says Baram wagging a finger at my face.

“Her memory is useless after that.” The boss lady says with a disappointed tone. She turns her gaze toward Luna. “What exactly happened with Magnus?”

Luna replies when prompted, “I found him in the cabins. Butt naked and clearly panicking. He was tossing and flipping things around, as if he were searching for something. I figured he was looking for the package we were after.”

“Wait, he didn’t remember where he stashed the one thing he was hiding from us?” asks Baram. “He’s either a complete moron or …”

“Let her finish Baram,” interjects the bossy lady.

“I don’t know what he was looking for, but he looked scared shit-less and I wasn’t sure how long we had. So I kicked his face as hard as I could and dropped him onto a table. My plan then was to Hex the answer out of him, but before I even got started, the man was already squealing and begging for his life.” Recounts Luna.

“Not surprised.” comments Baram with a smirk.

“He kept yelling ‘I don’t care who you are I’ll pay you anything you want!’ and ‘We have to get off this boat!’ Which made me want to hurt him even more. But then I noticed he was pointing at a flashing flat surface terminal by the couch.” Continues Luna.

“Oh.” says Baram.

“And we all know what happened after that.” says the boss lady with a long sigh.
