Hello folks!

Can't tell you how happy I am to finally get this one out in the world--Xurvikor's Fall is the realization of an idea that I've had bouncing around in my mind for some time now, eager to get it out onto a map. The premise is simple: A huge dragon has been slain mid-flight, hurtling into the city walls and the buildings beyond. Rubble and carnage are flung about and what characters must do next is so heavily influenced by the context of your session!

  • Is this the dragon your players just spent all last session defeating?
  • Is this the guardian of the city, slain by an incoming monstrosity?
  • Or perhaps you've been building tension for this dragon's arrival, only to have it betrayed by a larger, crueler enemy?
  • Is this dragon merely one of a larger force and players must now focus on the hordes of enemies pouring in through the wall's breach?

As you can see, there are a great many ways to play with and around the narrative implications of this map, all while still using the same scene and that makes it one of my instant favorites. I hope you'll feel the same! In total, the download ZIP below contains:

  • Xurvikor's Fall map, as seen above
  • A version of the same map, but without the dragon's body, in case you just want a scene of wreckage!
  • Both of those variants set during the night
  • All of the above with or without grids
  • All of the above as both full resolution maps and with VTT compressed counterparts
  • Finally, PNG tokens of the dragon's corpse by itself! This allows you to place the slain foe in any map you might like and I've also taken the liberty of providing a handful of different color schemes for versatility's sake

Awesome! Do some of the variant maps include other colors of the dragon: a Green Dragon works well for my players and a city they've visited...

Thanks Jeffrey! Included in the downloads is a "blank" version of the map with all of the destruction but NO dragon. There's also a folder of PNGs of the dragon isolated and in different color variants so you could ostensibly make your own version using the blank version + green dragon asset.
