Swamp Assets are here!

For those of you unfamiliar, this is the culmination of work put into our next biome pack that you all voted on back in... (eek) february. Lemme tell you folks, it has been a busy Spring! That in combination with dense cattails, detailed tree branches, and full map's worth of hand-painted ground textures made this set rather time-intensive. But still sorely needed!

Inside this pack you'll find...

  • 10 Dead Trees (including 3 updated ones and color matched to this new set)
  • New giant lily pads + lily pad clusters
  • A set of swamp reeds + swamp reed clusters
  • 9  "moors" of varying sizes to create isolated bodies of water or indicate depth
  • 16 "shabby" dock pieces that match the original set from the Harbor Assets
  • 3 previous road pieces that have been "submerged"
  • Full-page "swamp" texture in seamless and transition variants
  • 2 battle-ready example maps (and one night variant!)
  • Gridless and shadowless versions of all relevant asset pieces

The swamp texture in particular was challenging! How does one convey a ground that is murky, multiple possible depths, still walkable in some sense, compatible with other ground textures, and all while still not too visually distracting from the set pieces it sits beneath? I hope this hits some of those notes.

As you can imagine, this set's release not only broadens possibilities with swamps, but also opens up new options when used in combination with other sets! Allow me to serve as your "asset sommelier"...

  • Feywild Assets (trees, lily pads, mists, so much good stuff)
  • Forest Assets (the original pack, more trees, grass texture, trees, etc.)
  • Garden Assets (some more exotic looking plantlife in here could be of use)
  • Harbor Assets (some smaller-scale boats, non-shabby docks, other watery debris)
  • River Assets (some rafts, bridges, "islands" to place in the swamp, etc.)
  • Thatch Roofs (as used in my 'swamp village' example map)
  • Wooden Roofs (same as thatch, good for swampy sheds!)

And lastly, if you're looking for more swamp content, Baba Lysaga's Hut that I released last fall would also work well here, not to mention a moveable Hut asset!

Enjoy! Can't wait to see what you all create!
