Smell that? That's the salty stench of a Pirate themed Collaboration.

Folks today I come before you with yet another collaboration, this time teamed up with the same lovely individuals that brought you our Winter themed collaboration and the Morley Estate. For my contribution to the set I created The Black Wyrm, a pirate ship "token" with two decks, specially-made pirate sails, furnished with some of our newest assets, and featuring a rather noteworthy figurehead... In total it arrives as 8 PNG variants and the more formal labeled map of the vessel previewed above.

In addition to the Black Wyrm you can grab an amazing set of other pirate-themed maps, papercraft models, and paper miniatures from the following creators:

Attack from Below

For all you wonderful people however I've got even more. I was inspired by the Black Wyrm and the overall piratey vibes of the project itself and decided to create Attack from Below, a battle map depicting the scene of a Kraken just about to assail the measly wyrm. While the dramatic scene can be previewed above, this might just be on of those instances where the parts are more than the... sum..? Because I've provided all 10 tentacles as individual assets to be moved around the ship mid-battle as well as a number of experimental Weather Assets

In total the pack contains:

  • The Attack from Below battle map with and w/o grid and VTT compressed variants
  • 10 unique Kraken tentacles as moveable assets and options for shadows and/or water ripples to overlay nicely on a water texture
  • Those same tentacles as Astral variants with a very spacey astral texture embedded into them for those times that Evard has to bring out the really top notch tentacles y'know?
  • A mini-set of "Weather Assets" where I experimented with different rain overlay options, lightning bolt assets, a whirlpool, and made a new Seamless Ocean Texture in both it's standard default blue and a 'salty' brackish hue variant

And as if that weren't a bit over the top already...

My friend Graham at Wild Magic Surge came in swinging last minute and put together a pretty phenomenal Animated Map variant of the Attack from Below scene. Graham produces really stunning spell effects, weather overlays, and other inherently moving elements to use in battle maps as well as bring entire scenes to life like this one! The animated map arrives as a webm file that is compatible with VTT platforms like Roll20 and Foundry, but even if an animated map isn't normally in your DM arsenal I'd highly recommend downloading it just so you can preview it and see how cool it looks!

As always, if you're digging this map set and looking for more oceanic content, I'd point you towards our content Archive where you can find and search for whatever you need. Using the "Ocean" setting under filter by theme would likely be a good place to start.

Great collection of stuff! I'm not seeing the seamless ocean texture in the weather assets?

Shoot! Went back and re-compressed some of the PNG files and uploaded the wrong zip. New one up and should have it in there!

I absolutely love that there are popups/minis for In Person Table Top! I think this means our world is back to normal again.
