Hey folks!

For the last map of March I'm bringing you something a little different: the Chancel of the Weary Keeper works to expand my still growing collection of tropical-themed maps and in this case, is intended as a direct (though optional) companion to my previous map for the Temple of Keranos. If you pay a visit to that previous post released a little less than a year ago, you'll notice a clear aesthetic theme between the two.

My intent as I continue to do more and more maps into my 5th year of cartography while I naturally want to continue to expand on themes, ideas, biomes, etc. I figured it only made sense to try and align that content with things in the existing library too! This way if you were a fan of that Keranos map, you now have another map to act as a natural lead beyond the northern hallway.

In this particular scene I envisioned an encounter with a mysterious priest, backlit by openings in the temple to the tropical marshes beyond. Plant life tumbles down the slanted, circular walls of the chamber as pillars soar upwards and a ring of braziers cast a dull blue glow along the ripples of the water...

This map release includes:

  • The standard version of the Chancel, as featured above
  • An 'unfurnished' version without plants and the central bench, creating an opportunity for you to customize it as you wish using existing assets
  • A nighttime variant that lends it a bluer tone and highlights the glow of the brazier
  • Gridless and VTT-Compressed variants of all of the above

Hope you enjoy! Let me know what you think of the map as well as this idea of connecting new content to old content when appropriate!
