Hey folks!

Today as the last release of November I have to share with you the 2nd edition of my recent category of map I've been experimenting with in 2020: map collections! The last one (Forest Maps Collection) was a bit more of an experiment born out of the Annual Patron Survey in June. After releasing both the Forest maps collection and the Ruins of Rakmalia 'mega map' you all expressed enthusiasm for both, with a little more so for the Map Collection direction and an Urban theme in particular seemed to be the next logical step.

So with all that context established here is...

The Urban Maps Collection!

Like its forested predecessor, the aim of a 'map collection' is to redirect the scales away from a single, totally original map full of new content and describing a unique location to instead utilize the ever-growing library of assets I produce and create much larger scopes of maps through them. So the image you see above measures 51x66 squares (that's nine of my standard 17x22 square battle maps) and can be used both as one ultra-large map or split into 9 different battle maps to be used whenever/however you'd like!

Once the concept is understood the maps themselves are relatively straightforward, covering a fair amount of traditional ground between standard city thoroughfare, alleyways, and including a couple of more fun, classic tropes like a marketplace, a city park/garden, and a fountain square. The night variants were especially fun to tweak as I played around with the use of light to try and capture the feeling of a fantastical urban sprawl once the sun had set.

Hope you enjoy! The downloads below are broken up into the complete maps themselves, the separate maps as daytime or nighttime (each with or w/o grid) and the VTT compressed Zip contains all of those, but after having been put through a compressor filter to lower their file size (-80%!) at the sacrifice of some pixel compression (that you'll only notice if you zoom all the way in). Making them perfect for VTT play!

This is uber-useful. Thank you.

Does "Complete Maps" contain the other three folders?

We need more "big city" maps like that. :) All the maps from anyone usually cover just a single street, if even. Some sets like this for a whole area of a city are great... for chases or investigation or just for the close surrounding around where players have their rented house/room...
