Hey everyone!

This is a fun one to release for a myriad of reasons:

  • Firstly, it took forever and I'm proud of it and excited for you to have it
  • Secondly, this map is once again accompanied by the beautiful miniatures of Printable Heroes (who also contributed the minis to Umbrage Hill)
  • Lastly, this is my first experiment with the "Mega Map" option as it was described in the Annual Patron Survey (see part two). I'm interested in creating maps that portray a larger scope and this is one way of doing it!

This post is effectively 2 of my standard 8.5x11 battle maps created to be side-by-side, resulting in one 'mega map'. For that reason this will be taking the slots of 2 of my 5 total 'paid posts' for this month. In the first release of August I'll be sharing another approach to this larger-scope experiment in the form of something I'm calling 'map collections'. Once you all have received both versions of these experiments I'll be opening up polling to see which direction(s) to move forward with more consistently.

The post here contains the maps as they appear 'merged' together; the next immediate post will have them as two separate battle maps, the Lower Ruins and Rakmalia's Shadow.

In the meantime...

  • Merged 'mega map' covering 22x34 in-game squares
  • Gridless variations + version w/o Rakmalia statue
  • Separated Rakmalia statue as a PNG asset
  • VTT resolution versions (w/ highlighted square for grid alignment)
  • Set of beautiful miniatures from Printable Heroes

Enjoy! And while the formal polling may not be till after the first 'map collection' comes out, please feel free to let me know what you think!

Decidedly perfect for my Descent into Avernus campaign. Wonderful work. To you and Printable Heroes both.
