Hello all!

Quite pleased to share with you all the beginning of the culmination of a project I've been tinkering with for the last couple of months: Westernos' Deep! The Chambers of Ascension you see above is the first map in a 2-part dungeon layout, the 2nd map for which is still in progress and will becoming out next month.

This location was first introduced to you via battle map of the tomb's entrance back in July where I hinted at the funerary deity Westernos. Once this particular layout was voted on as the focus for my next dungeon module, I have been trying to sharpen my DM skills in designing creatures, items, and puzzles to populate this tomb with. I shared a few of those preliminary designs and sketches with you all last month!

As you can hopefully tell just from looking at the map, the entrance detailed in the battle map leads to chamber one at the bottom of the map. Throughout the complex players can explore the ruined remains of the forgotten priesthood of Westernos as well as encounter a few new acquaintances that have taken up residence in their absence.

Assuming your players are keen enough to find them, the deeper, hidden chambers of this main level of the tomb are reached through puzzle and sacrifice while revealing the nature of Westernos' ascended acolytes. The last area in chamber twelve reveals an even deeper area below this tomb where the remains of Westernos himself is embalmed and sealed away, though not quite enough to prevent the tendrils of his influence from leaking up into the tomb above. That burial area and the full written module for this dungeon will be released next month!

I truly hope you all enjoy! It's been a challenging and fun experience researching the few desert-based campaigns and locations used in D&D history as I've tried to tread new ground while paying homage to the greats.

Is this map VTT-compatible? I'm having a hard time working out what the dimensions of a given square are in pixels, and the map doesn't seem to be a whole number of its own squares wide or tall.

Could be! It's a dungeon map and not a battle map so it doesn't have a strict VTT version and may not have the best resolution stretched out to battle map scale, but you could! Squares should be around 77px on either side, but again it wasn't made with VTT in mind. Since the squares mark off 10 feet also you might just have an easier time using the gridless version and snapping your grid on top of it for the 5ft grid.
