Guys!

It has been 5 years (counting back to "Tree Assets 2") since I drew and painted a conifer tree. 5 years. As time has marched further and further away from that date I found myself becoming increasingly less likely to use them in maps and begin to lean more on the deciduous trees that I'd made more recently. You might understand why then, I was rather eager to invest some time in creating a more modern set of these piney fellas.

And let me tell ya, it took quite some time to be invested. I designed these new trees to have a variety of sizes, make good use of an intriguing color palette, and feature enough detail and texture that I felt evoked the kind of tree I wanted to distinguish from the others in the library. And while it may have taken a fair bit longer than I would have liked, I am rather happy with the result and am confident you will be too. But rest assured, there are a good deal of other goodies in this pack!

Woodland Assets 4 contains:

  • A total of 20 new trees, the majority of which are conifer

  • A pair of assets making up a new large, fallen tree

  • 6 new dead bushes, something I'd never made before

  • 46 new smaller plants to increase the diversity of "ground cover" in your woodland areas, along with 14 clusters of them to make the use of those plants not quite as tedious

  • I dissected parts of the existing new trees from Woodland 3, drew and painted over them, and as a result created 30 new bushes in my more recent texture style to more than double the amount previously available

  • And of course, my "example map" of a rather standard looking forest scene (albeit, picturesque!) to serve a broad swath of uses.
