June 2024 Forecast & Sticker Preview (Patreon)

It's Pride month, y'all!!

And with that, of course it also means that everything is going to turn 🌈RAINBOW🌈 for the month and then forgotten, but NOT HERE. NOPE. We're gonna rainbow-ify everything, but we're doing it the same way as we did before!! And with that, may I present to you, this month's sticker sheets: PRIDE! And this time, there are THREE variations!

For those of you who've been around since last year, you have indeed seen these designs already. But trust that I have been tracking which ones you've already received, so you'll receive a completely different set this time around! I felt extremely guilty for not being able to do a new design this year (or even update this design...) but at the same time, I've also been trying to remind myself (with the help of an author I follow on Instagram, @InspiredToWrite) that despite what the current online pressures tell us, our creations don't have to be short-lived. Just because they've been made and used once, doesn't mean they are no longer valuable again, right? ......Right? 😅

[EDIT] Last year, I pledged $1 from each of the stickers to the Trevor Project. While that is still very much a meaningful cause, I decided that this year, I will be donating £1 from each of the sticker sheets to Mermaids and TransActual UK instead.

For those of you who aren't aware, the UK government is looking to put education guidances in place that will put trans people at risk, particularly trans youths and girls. As with anything, I recommend that you not just take my word for it and of course research and find information from varying sources (the two charities above are a good start), but I can say that I felt it necessary for me to make this decision for myself.

This means that all the stickers that you get, lovely Prism Pals and Spectral Stars, are already helping me out, but you'll also be helping trans people in the UK be recognised and respected as all of us humans deserve. So thank you for being a part of this and for helping me to help be a part of this as well. 💖 If you would like to get these stickers and a postcard in the mail, please sign up or adjust to the Prism Pals Tier or Spectral Stars Tier time before 15th June!

With that, there are a couple of things happening this month that I'm excited to share with you! And even though I didn't get as much done on my trip that I'd hoped, due to spraining my foot and having to get X-rays and all that junk LOL, I'm still slowly hobbling along at getting the things done, and I promise that you will be the first to hear about some of the new exciting things I'm doing!

• Origami 101!
  🗓 15 June 3PM UK (10AM EDT / 7AM PDT)
  We're heading over to the Dino Discord to learn the basics about origami! No special equipment required, just a piece of paper and your willingness to learn! And while you're at it, you should join the Dino discord anyway because there is SO much happening over there all the time!!

  I'm finally getting off my arse and doing something new that I've been meaning to do for over a year now!! And since it is so big and scary and intimidating, I wanted to have YOU Shining Stars be there to help me feel a little less like I'm just taking at a microphone, and also to get some feedback from you!! So stay tuned here for details, but IT'S GONNA COME, I PROMISE.

You may notice there isn't a Shining Stars hangout session scheduled this month, and we haven't had one in several months now, for which I'm really really sorry! But I also wanted to check with YOU all first, whether you still want to do them or not. So I will be sending out a poll eventually, both with dates and with whether it's something you would like to see continue, or if there is something else that you might find more valuable!

📣 Important Stuff

I really, really have been putting this off because I seriously do not want to do it, but unfortunately due to things out of my control (cough cost-of-living crisis cough) means that I do actually have to look at changing the tier pricings. What this means for you is nothing as of yet, but once I figure out what will be happening, I'll let you know well ahead of time so that you can decide how you would like to change your tier memberships accordingly if you should so choose. Once again, I'm really sorry to have to do it, but with everything from energy costs and even postage going up, it just is getting harder and harder for me to maintain things as they are.

Still, please know that I'll continue to do my hardest to make it worthwhile for you, because without your support, I really would not be able to continue living my artistic dreams despite it all. That's all we can hope to do, is our best after all.
