Sneak peek #134 (Patreon)

First of all we've hit 15 000 subs on Webtoons. Those of you who follow us on Twitter, already know this

So the new academic year has started. I'm not a student, but YumiCH is. This is her final year at university and we kind of worried about it. Because of COVID their classes are all online, which is both good and bad. And I still help her with lots of programming they have.

She is going to write her diploma and I'm going to help with that too. But that might take time, which means nothing good for the comics

Luckily, her university approved the topic I suggested, so this is going to make the situation a bit easier, because we know what to do.

This also means YumiCH is going to take part of the updates on her as a way to thank me for help. She already did this actually

I guess you've also noticed we had a big pause during this time. That happened unexpectedly during drawing the page of "The Fall". I realized that something goes wrong with the plot and lost synchronization with the main story. So we decided to take a pause and work through the whole chronology of "The Fate!"

It looks something like this now. Purple comes for Luka and Sheas line, cian for Victor and Shelby. And we also got the new pink line, which I'm going to explain a bit later.

I've read though 1035 pages of text for Luka/Sheas, 470 pages for Victor/Shelby and 80 short drafts for comics chapters. That was a lot of invisible, but necessary work. We found missing chapters, plot holes and serious mistakes, like when Shelby and Victor discussed a trip they've never been to. 

We were also harassed on some of our platforms. People found Luka's behavior toxic and  weren't very pleased with their relationship with Sheas. We've thought a lot about that. This is not the first time such a thing happened, but this was the first time we weren't sure about our decisions too. We truly were going to change Luka, to make his softer, than his original version. This would make their relationship with Sheas less complicated and easier to understand. But at the last moment we decided to keep Luka as he is. YumiCH is quite angry I had to stand against all the harassment and is going to prepare a kind of article explaining "The Fate!" is an adult story and will show the relationships from all the sides.

All in all that wasn't a huge drama, but we needed some time to think about our future, because it is most likely, we won't be able to change this route after chapter 5 ends

So we took a number of decisions:
1) We are going to make the volumes shorter
Originally we supposed there would be about 10-15 chapters in a volume. Now we are going to stay on 5-7 chapters. This will make the story easier to print
2) Yes, we dream to print "The Fate!". But this won't happen soon
3) We will change some plot details, but only because we find them dumb
4) We won't change anything only because the readers are to sensitive. We will let our characters make bad decisions and pay for them
5) We will expand the story's world

And some of you already know my character Ren Shiro
Kei and Ren Shiro used to be members of the furry ask group which is now closed. This is an old drawing of then:

These two became Sheas' classmates and they will appear in Volume 2. And the little guy is Aiden. He is one year younger than Sheas

So the pink line on the screenshot belongs to a new plot line of Ren and Aiden.

However, Luka/Sheas and Victor/Shelby plot lines will stay the main lines of the comics. Ren and Aiden are something like an expansion, same as Pete/Shayera. We just love these boys and want to share them with you. We also consider them as candidates for the future novel, but there's nothing to decide yet. 

We also needed a new character from Luka's past. We needed someone smart and sarcastic. He was supposed to become a doctor and have some illegal connections. And we suddenly realized we already have such a character - Lucky

You've seen this picture in the previous sneak peek, it's here just in case you forgot him. So yes, this boy is going to join "The Fate!" too.

Aaaaand the part I love most of all

Meet Felis and William Fiet. They are James and Luka's parents. William is strict, but he cares about his sons. Felis is very soft and tender to her boys. She loves them as they are and always take their side. 

Felis was the most beautiful girl at university and William completely fell for her. It was extremely hard for him to get her attention, but he finally did that. And don't trust that calm face, he still loves his wife like crazy

Helena and Daniel Ford. These two are absolutely opposite to Fiets. Helena was raised very strictly by her father and grandfather. They also persuaded her a woman will never be able to got herself a proper place in their community. That's why they've chosen a husband for her.

Daniel is extremely soft and seems to be scared of Helena. He is very sickly and often visits different countries to get proper treatment. 

These two never loved each other and their marriage was only for business. Helena rules the company and Daniel is just a figurehead. Helena raises her sons as strict as she was raised. Daniel love Victor and Luther, but meets them once or twice a year at best

Meet Grandma Jade

This is an adorable old lady. Ironic, sarcastic and self-centered in a way. Her own son stole Rivalle from her and that turned into Jade's family drama. However she absolutely loves her grandchildren and calls them "Little assholes".

Patreon will be the first to see Grandma in action, because she will play a big role in the "The Fall". And I do hope she will appear in the main story too
