This was such a blast to see in the theater, after I missed out on seeing the first one that way due to being just two years old at the time. And especially great to see they were able to get Val Kilmer in despite his throat cancer.

Yeah, Kilmer’s inclusion and writing in his illness was a nice touch (they even had to synthesize his voice since he couldn’t actually speak). I’m just old enough to have seen this in theaters as a kid and grew up in San Diego just a few miles of what was then NAS Miramar and have fond memories of seeing air shows there (it’s a Marines air station now and Top Gun has since moved to Fallon in Nevada though I was happy to see the San Diego scenery from North Island despite the inaccuracy)

Sam, now that you have gotten yourself into the world of Tom Cruise you absolutely need to begin watching the Mission: Impossible movies. Right now you've got SIX movies with the first part of the seventh film coming this summer. Trust me you will love them.
