Hey yall,

There will be a new episode of Lets Talk About Sex History monthly, thanks to this video's sponsor. We'll be talking black sexual politics in a variety of ways. First, in this video, I dive into the explicit lyrics of black women and the ways in which we are perceived, and whether or not it is empowering. This video could have been much longer, but I had to be mindful for my video editor's sake.

I cut out an addition about the condescending man who opens the video, James E. Davis, a police officer and pastor, who was murdered in broad daylight while running for political office in New York a few years after this episode of the Rolanda Watts Show. His opponent, Othniel Boaz Askew, was the killer.

#Beducated https://beducate.me/bg2338-elexus CODE: ELEXUS In this episode of Lets Talk About Sex History, we'll talk about the evolution of sexuality in black female music-- predominately rap and r&b. When did black women in hip hop and r&b become so sexually explicit-- or is this nothing new? Is it empowering? Hi Lex, I haven't finished watching but it looks like you put in the beducated ad twice (at the beginning and at 14:00). I'm not sure if this was by mistake or a contract thing?
