How To Be Black In America (Patreon)
Content
When Black Americans say "black people must unite", or that we are "black first", is that sentiment based in reality or fantasy? Do we all have the same idea about who is black and who is worth being put first? The brutal truth is that black Americans are motivated by so many diverse self-interests that uniting as one will be a monumental, if not impossible task. People may call me divisive for this video, but if any real progress will ever happen for the numerous coalitions to come up with solutions that will be mutually beneficial (and discuss issues that are universally pressing), we have to get to the root of who really doesn't give a fuck about the black community. It turns out, plenty of black people actually benefit from the current social status quo-- though the benefits vary greatly from person to person.
In this video, through six categories ranging from Region to Politics and Ideology, I will discuss the historical nuances and current realities that shape the goals (or the complete apathy) of black people in America.
