JSYK: Environmental Racism (Patreon)
Content
So the whole point of JSYK: Zip Code, Race, and Class was to provide a good foundation for the next generation of Intelexual Media videos. The topics will involve class and the black community, but I knew it was important to first iterate that a lot of black oppression comes from environment and location. Now, let's turn our attention to ways that zip code and white supremacy impacts black health. This is important to consider because of the Trump administration's deprioritization of the environment and rollback of healthcare. And despite people's optimism, he will be re-elected in 2020. If he happens to keel over and die, Pence will steamroll right in.
For my patrons who are especially keen on environmental issues in the black community and the poor, what environmental justice organizations do you donate to or volunteer with? Please leave a comment!
