Hi friends,

Just wanted to catch everyone up on the summer's projects. I've been cooking up some stuff I'm really excited about!

I wrote a new book over the summer--a chapter book for younger readers (probably the 2nd-4th grade range--think Magic Tree House level if you're familiar with those). Since publishers typically only pick up these kind of early reader chapter books in 4-book deals, I've also written titles and blurbs for the next three books in the proposed series. My agent has sent it out to a list of editors, so fingers crossed -- maybe we'll be hearing some good news soon! I'm attaching the sample illustrations we sent out to the editors too :) You're the only people in the world to see these, besides my agent and the editors!

I also wrapped up the graphic novel I posted about before ("The Puzzling Fate of Millicent Graves"), and that's being shopped around to publishers as well. Maybe some good news on that front soon too?!

Lastly, Crooked Mile issue #3 is finally done! I've just ordered a proof copy to make sure everything looks good and I didn't overlook too many typos :) Assuming the proof looks good, it should be available to order in a week or two (and supporters at the $10 level or above, your copy will be mailed to you as soon as I get my sweaty little paws on 'em!). I'm really pleased with the look of this issue, and I think you're going to love the short story starring Lavinia and Claire!

I'm also working on a spooky little project I hope to unveil in October, so stay tuned for news on that!

Love to you all, stay well, keep your masks on...(is anyone else enjoying having half your face covered up all the time?? I feel so mysterious! That can't be just me, can it?)

Best,

Dora

Oodles of talent and loads of hard work should pay off and in golden greckles. It's certainly what you have and surely what you've done so, in a Right-World, all should be good :) :) :)
