Aspirations (Patreon)

I've posted a lot of OC stuff, but haven't really talked at all about my plans or ideas for them and I'd like to do that here. It ended up pretty long winded, but there's a tl;dr in the next paragraph.

In short, one of the reasons I learned to draw was to hopefully illustrate my own world someday. Ideally, I'd love to make a VN, but from my limited game dev experience I know that's a far off goal LMAO. More than likely I'll create a few designs, try to build up their lore and then think about how to expand it.

Realistically, I don't think I could make a VN on my own currently. I only know basic programming and unity, and have exactly zero musical experience. I'm confident (ish) with my illustration and writing at least. So I imagine if I was to make a larger project with my OCs, it'd end up as a light novel of some sort. But that can come later.

First, I need to finalize their designs and conceptualize how they'll contribute to the world I want to create. I've been taking a few notes and saving references, so once I'm happy with their designs I'll try to write out a small bio for them. Ideally, I want 4 "main" or I guess "romancable"? OCs for this universe. I have Amiris and Illeya, (the desert hare girl I didn't name here last time) and I'm pretty satisfied with their distinctive looks. I think I'll likely simplify Amiris's design somewhat to make it easier on myself (and others) to draw in the future.

I do have a few ideas started for designs/personalities for the last two characters. I know I want a character with short hair, maybe a bit tomboyish (sort of my like avatar OC, but I don't think I want to use her for this world). And I'd really like a character with twin tails too. I just really like when women tie up their hair I guess LMAO.

I've been sort of thinking about my OCs personality in terms of two elements (out of air, earth, fire, water) and so far the chart looks something like this:

 * Amiris: Water/Fire
 * Illeya: Earth/Air

So there's room for an "air" personality OC, and a "fire" personality OC. The only reason I want the "main" element to be different is for the sake of diversity. At least for my own sanity to make sure I'm not writing characters who are too similar LMAO. So likely the other combinations would be "Fire/Earth" and "Air/Water".

There's also a decent chance that I just drop this world and these OC's. I've hopped between concepting a lot ideas, hoping to discover the one "me" idea that I absolutely fall in love with. I've realized that there will never be a perfect idea, or a creation that I adore beyond everything else. All I can do is work towards creating something that I'm proud of and happy with.

So as long as I'm having fun designing OCs and writing about them, I'll keep aspiring to make some sort of large project with them.

Anyways, sorry for the long text post, I don't know if they'll become more common the more I expand upon this universe. But at the very least, I think these ideas are neat so I hope you guys do too (because you're gonna see them whether you want to or not :smugdiscordemote:)

This is likely what I'm gonna work on whenever I have free time. If I don't have any commissions to work on, I'll still try to draw something vtuber related at least every other week.


On that note, I'm gonna keep chipping away at this daki com I have, and I'll likely start sketching the Mel for the character poll either tomorrow or monday, then hopefully I can stream her later in the week.
