Hey everyone I had a request about my Files discipline, so I want to start off by saying sorry if it's been causing any problems and I will be trying to improve that so there wont be Zips in zips.

But I also wanted to ask you all what other areas do you think I could improve in and is there any ways you think I could improve my Patreon?

I want to be providing the best experience to you all that I can.

Duncan, first of all, thank you for what you do. You provide great value to us patrons, and I love everything you do. It’s truly amazing. I’ve had a great time printing and painting your models. If I were to offer one suggestion, it would be to pick the top 2 from the polls to include in the following month. Then again, if that’s possible for you. I know how much time and effort you must put into your work so if that’s too much then I’m happy as is! Keep doing you!

No complaints regarding the art in general.. But It's kinda hard to find where the new releases are.. Like right now, I don't know where I can find may releases (if there are any) or where to download them.. Or maybe I don't know how to navigate the page..

Your work is amazing! Your filing system not so much lol on top of previous comments, I would appreciate if the pictures would be in the appropriate folder instead of in a separate one :)

Duncan_shadow

You have to go to Posts and there is a tag for paladin level and another one for downloads, but you have to be a supporter for $10 (paladin level) to have access to the monthly releases.

The models are great is you ask me. The only thing I can think of is maybe ensuring the bottom of the minis feet are totally flat? or maybe include an option that have 1/8" or 3mm pegs coming out the feet? This way they can be attached to bases easier? :D

Can you indicate when supports are needed or not.

The biggest thing i'd recommend is having square pegs to join split models. Make a square hole on each side and add a peg to print to connect them together.

like this but with square pegs for orientation <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tgc66TvEke4" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tgc66TvEke4</a>

Long time follower on thingi, but new to your Patreon. Your work is amazing. A few minor things I would suggest. I like to base my own minis to match, so maybe provide baseless versions when possible. When making models that are a clear direct inspiration of a wargaming unit. Try to look at common configurations/loadouts. Biggest one for me right now is wanting to use your new Balor as a 40k daemon prince. But most DPs are run with dual claws. Aka no weapons. So even something as simple as removing the axe and just opening the hands up would be a fantastic additional option.

Amazing work. The only thing I would like to see is the models of previous months appear on your personal site a little quicker maybe. I only just joined the patreon, and I’m jealous of long time backers because I can’t get a hold of models of previous months. Maybe you could wait about two months after release, to maintain exclusivity, and then make the models available on your site.

Would be helpful to be able to re-download the old files if you were backing at the time they were released.

This is one of the reasons I like Gumroad or other stores. Not on Duncan at all, but shit happens. Even when you make backups.

Duncan_shadow

To be honest I would say always use supports. I have been designing the figures with fdm printing in mind, but even when a sculpt should print with out supports I always like to have supports added as a just encase.

Duncan_shadow

I use to do that, and still do if I think a joint needs the extra support, but I have been doing the joints differently recently because I've found I get better results with the printing and the joints fit together better.

Duncan_shadow

That's interesting I did design the Balor with a Bloodthirster in mind, but didn't even think of a demon prince.

Duncan_shadow

I try to aim for around that sort of time to put things on the site, but I have to say I can be rather bad at getting things on my site. I love sculpting and so want to spend all of my time doing that and can sometimes put off other bits :S I'll try and find the time to do another website update soon.

Duncan_shadow

I have considered going over to Gumroads subscription service because of this. Currently if you payed for a month and need a new link just send me a message on Patreon and I'm happy to sort you out with a new link :)

I think you are definitely my favorite sculpter--amazing work! I would LOVE to see more character models (or models that could be used as player characters). I saw another comment a month or so ago that suggested maybe a different class/race each month--I think that would be awesome!

Duncan_shadow

Yeah I thought that was a great idea and is something I've been working on :) So there will be lots more character class coming in the future. Thank you so much glad you are liking my work.

2023-04-03 11:56:02 I love the stuff you've put out so far, has been a good influence for my DMing to add stuff you made I can print up for the next session. Only thing I could think to ask for is if you reopened the patreon level that let's you sell prints in the future, I have 6 printers to mass produce an item my roommate and I sell as a side gig and I've been wanting to move over into doing D&amp;D and miniature scenery and minis as well.

Hi Justin I have places left on the merchant tier if you are interested. Glad I'm a good influence for your DMing :)

Duncan, lets just assume your models are great, the value you provide is great, your work ethic is great. My only complaints are nitpicking. And not worth less output, unless it is a very temporary lessening of output as you adjust workflow. 1 . Zip within Zips. 2. File names that match the model. 3. Names of the models in the pictures. 4. Point or write something to give a primer on how to print most of these models. 1 . Is self explanatory, one zip is as efficient as 20, and takes less drive-space if I keep everything. 2.file names....hound 3 will not come to mind in a year when I’m searching for the odd mole/things that the goblin_hounds are. May19_goblinmount3 might. 3. Goes with 2, but searching everything for what I want is kind of tedious. If month poster has the image and name of the model it would be faster, or is the one off images had the model names it would be faster. 4. It took almost a year of on and off printing your models to get confortable both in FDM and resin. Now I’m usually shocked if the print didn’t work, or I break the model during support removal. I know each printer is different, and first layers are everything in fdm, but what that means when your models are 0.05~0.1mm layers to get decent prints means a lot. How you or someone goes about getting it done and the 10 minutes after slicing to verify a good slice would have been kick ass. Now that I understand those things I am just now confident in printing your models in something other than Resin or PLA. But 1st layers near perfection is required for your models. And we newbs do not know what that looks like until we suddenly do. That said I love your work. Got me wanting to paint miniatures again.
