Also here is a wip of the Beholder (I'm going to start calling it a eye terror or something like that, as Wizards of the coast don't like people calling things beholders. Let me know if you have any ideas for a good name) I've made a few changes from this point, but will post another image soon.

I'm not gonna lie. I'm not at all a fan of this design. It looks exactly like the model shown in the (Adept) Tier benefit. I get that art is up to the artist and all...but this feels too much like all your other models. Was definitely hoping for a more Nolzur's vibe Beholder.

guess the eye stocks look too unnatural and symmetrical for my taste, maybe more free flowing and random?

I'm going to echo Wil on this one. The tiny central eye is kind of throwing me off. Also, as such an iconic D&D baddy, beholders only ever have one eye in their meatball head. Not sure if the little side-y things are extra eyes or not.

EyeTerror, EyeTyrant, Looker, EyeHorror, Master of Eyes, EyeMaster, EyeLord, etc... Actually I like the side eye idea..Maybe the creature has X amount of eyes in its head/skull and a bunch of extra eyes on tentacles/stalks/etc..

Yeah totally agree. They were just placed there to get a feel for what direction to go in. I have deleted these eye storks and started again as I didn't like how these were looking.

I certainly hope you didn't take that as me being rude, I LOVE your work. Obviously, I'm a patron. =) Just giving some feedback. With so few GOOD beholder sculpts ( re: only the Nolzur's to this point IMO rates ) I had super high hopes for this one when I saw the option in the poll. I thought, if ANYONE can kill the heck out of this sculpt, it'd be YOU.

I can see (pun intended :p) the point of the smaller middle eye compared to usual representations - I personally don't mind it too much, perhaps a few more smaller eyes in the space underneath the main eye might look pleasing to the..... eye(I cant stop :p).

No no you definitely didn't come across as being rude. I really like getting feedback from you guys, it's the best way for me to improve as a sculptor. I have already started making progress on a second beholder, and I'm thinking of doing a few different ones so you will have a few to choose from, and that has in part been inspired by your comments :)

that is good to hear. I have the up most faith the end product will be outstanding like everything you release to us. I hold this monster close to my heart so guess that's why im on my toes about it. Already have 6 different ones in my Mini army and cant wait to add a few more of yours!!!
