Another Kaiju coming early December.

(I was wondering if I could ask you guys a favour)

I'm really pleased how my Patreon has been growing and it's really inspired me to put more and more time into sculpting stuff for you,

but I thought it would be really cool if I could earn enough from this so I could dedicate all of my time to it.

And as they say two heads are better than one. So can any of you think of good ways to help grow my Patreon ?

Would really appreciate and advice you guys could offer.

1. Post videos and prints on youtube. 2. create a kickstarter with additional models and list them. 3. License your models for distribution, this requires a limited amount and higher tier (HI ME!). 4. Facebook advertising and a group. 5. Contact other modelers who do the same thing as you and offer to cross promote

Also encourage your patreons to post photos of completed prints. I have just finished getting one of the Kaiju printed and painted. Will post soon

yeah, doing tutorials on youtube is a really big draw for a lot of people. especially if they're focused and interesting, like a series on "textures" or "dynamic posing". Channel your inner zombie bob ross.

Join other groups to advertise. Increase prices slightly [the government can do it and so can you probably...], add new tier levels with new services/offers, probably do kickstarters, find ways to get more patrons

I would also increase your patronage cost to $10 per month to new members If i were you, you are producing a lot of stuff and $10 is the usual going cost for most patronage.

Thanks for a ideas. What do you think would be a good reward tier level for a license to sell the prints?

Saving up for a new computer so I can have the hard drive space and general computing power to do video editing is on my list of things to do :). I'm going to have to teach myself some new software aswell :S. I've been looking at some of the free software out there too. I thought it might be cool to do some tutorials on software that's easier to access when people are first starting.

Thanks guys for your input it's been loads of help :)

I've seen kickstarter's go between $100-$500 per year for a 1 yr license. Now your stuff is more HIGHLY advanced and rather unique. Also you'd need a LIMITED amount of people at that tier so the market doesnt' get flooded with your designs. My thought: $20/month for 10 licensees at that tier.

Get in touch with some of the youtube channels that focus on 3d printing or wargaming, and ask if they are willing to make a video on your models in exchange for you sending them some models. Ash from Guerilla Miniature Games often make videos about different products for wargaming. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCbO4Vs1vlAA9hz7Ad7IMgug

Thanks that's a really good idea. I've seen a video and a few blog posts about my sculpts and I always get super excited whenever I see people posting about and enjoying my work. There are a few youtube channels I follow but I hadn't heard of Guerrilla Miniature games, just subscribed :)

So if I raise the cost of the new subscribers to $10 do you think $30/ month would be ok? So it would be $20 for the licence to sell plus $10 to get all the stuff I released each month.

Robert Maefs

Very cool. I would love entry level stuff for zbrush. I did some sculpting in college years ago and I would very much like to get myself back into it. I look forward to getting your upgrades!

Have you thought of doing an online digital sculpting class?

Duncan_shadow

A few people have mentioned that. I've thought about doing some sort of tutorials on digital sculpting but more just vidios people could download or watch on youtube rather than a class. I work about 60/ 70 hours a week so I'm not sure I could do as many sculpts as I am currently if I went down more of a teaching rout

I think it could be worth your time investment, maybe release some content via youtube to grow your presence and complement that with a paid for access to a comprehensive course?

I just jumped on to Patreon, have the links been sent for this yet?

Duncan_shadow

Hi Dustin, Thanks :) No this isn't out just yet. I'll post a dropbox link to all the new stuff in a few days after everyone's payments go through
