PART 4

(Fullsize/HQ Image download attached to bottom of post!)

-----

You refuse to disclose anything to the prying dragon.

The corner of Lirus' maw twitches. The smoke twirling from his nostrils increases.
"You prefer for me to make you talk...? Ballsy."
The beast lowers his hand back to the ground. You wince, grasping at a massive digit to steady yourself before clambering down to solid earth.
Heart pounding in your throat from adrenaline, you assess your surroundings: the generally open landscape sports dense woods just ahead. If only you could get there safely...

---------------

Lirus casually peers down at you from his lofty height.
"So, what're you going to do, prisoner? Are you going to run? Khhkh"
You decide - before the dragon decides to toy with you more - your best bet would be to run for the cover of the woods.

At the very least you hope that your small form can move quicker, and with more precision, than a lumbering dragon.
You take off straight ahead between the dragon's legs. The will to live propels you; your body burns and aches with what little energy you have left.

---------------
Just then, once you'd thought you'd had a chance at freedom, your peripheral vision catches the beast's hindpaw swiftly raising.

Your attempt to change course is in vain, and the hefty hindpaw slams you against the cool earth.

The soft, warm flesh of the paw firmly presses down. Your bones creak and beg for mercy before the pressure gradually lets up.

Stunned from shock, you feel your limp body being gently manipulated and curled into further warmth. You open your eyes to find yourself neatly lodged between the beast's thick toes and sole.

Lirus flexes his toes, splaying them before scrunching them - and you - flush against the meat of his sole pad.

With your form in the tight grasp of his toes, the beast's hindpaw lowers once more, pressing you against the ground with measured pressure...it's just enough to frighten you, but not enough to cause serious bodily harm.
The process is repeated multiple times, to where you find yourself dazed, bruised, and squirming against the powerful paws to escape. While pressed against the ground, you can hear Lirus' cackling, followed by a question.

"I'd still love to know just where your base camp is located..."
---------------

WHAT DO YOU SAY?
