So I decided to make my life easier and have the triceratops take off the shirt. At first, this wasn't looking too good... I tried using a bunch of different colliders for the arms, hands and grippy part, then I made the hand colliders into "hooks" then I added more hooks around the parts of the shirt that needed to go up, but it was not getting the results I wanted.

Using a bunch of hooks to raise the cloth up is an idea worth exploring, but not now.

Instead, I tried this:

With this method, a large object pushes the cloth up and over the body. This was a step in the right direction, so I kept messing with this and then animated the body a bit, then refined the sim, animated the body a bit, and eventually got a good looking result.

So it looks pretty good from this specific angle, I think! Not perfect, but good enough. Don't be fooled though, it ain't lookin too good from any angle but this.

I had to use a sphere for his head because a more accurate shape was causing the shirt to get stuck on it too much, and made the shirt not fly into the position I wanted it (like I wanted some of it to be seen falling down off camera with his left arm moving).

Fortunately, it's only seen from one angle. So the camera can hide away a lot of bad spots, that and with the motion blur and depth of field, it should look like a rather natural shirt removal.

It makes a lot more sense to have the cloth sim itself be more of what the character is animated around (instead of the character animation being what is prioritized)... so, if you ever have to make your character remove a shirt, maybe thinking of it that way will help!

Now, just to take care of the roughly 1900 frames of simulation that comes before the shirt removal...

Also, if any frozen pizza patrons are reading this and want to be in the special thanks (but haven't received a message from me or haven't sent me a message about it yet) then send me a message with the name you'd like me to use in the special thanks! I've been slacking on that, and want to have an accurate list for the next animation. I've setup the final preparations for the donut factory thing and I've been simulating the final version of the fluids...

Love the way it like, drips off the tube! So I'm hoping to have that done... by the end of the month? Idk. But yeah, I'm collecting more names for the credits on that one!
