It feels like it's been a a bit since the last post, but I've been making steady progress on getting something done this month. I was really considering not having any voice acting this time (mostly because I figured it would save some time and money), but against my better judgement, I thought it would be fun to voice act the horse myself, with a southern accent. I think it's
I've attached a video of the lip sync cam, a pretty preview with some (and most of the jiggle, still need to add more jiggle meshes to the horse and I need to add the jiggle meshes to the pig in the foreground) and an uglier preview with just the voice acting, no jiggle but this shows the entire animation. This is pretty much done, there's a few things left to fix that I just noticed (like near the end when the horse gets back into position, the toy clips a bit too much to be tolerable)
I don't have much else to show, but I think I found out a few tricks to the soft body sim to get the kind of jiggle I'd like. I've had people say it's too much, too jello-like, which I agree with. With soft bodies, it's very hard to get a firm, yet bouncy jiggle. If you try to go for slower jiggle, you get too much rippling and it looks closer to a water balloon than anything. If you go for a more firm body, the jiggles are very fast and more like firm jello.
It seems the "gravity" setting (like turn that all the way down to 0.1) and the mass setting (10 kg or more seems to get more hefty soft bodies) are the key.
So this was a pretty fun thing, got a bit sidetracked, but learned some more things about soft bodies. I should be rendering, finishing up adding the sound, very soon.
