Animations of the logo head! I had a good time animating these :p
I'm not sure yet how much this would add to an animation, the head logo thing animating on the bottom left, but it'll be a fun experiment. I'll be rendering the frames to easily to just, place in Blender's video editor where I'd like the animation to change...
So for example, when the raptor is put into the bronto's hole, the reaction where he looks up and to the right with hearts in his eyes would play.
This was also a good opportunity to mess with how I rig eye lids... usually that's a trouble area, but when I modeled this head, I made the eyes squinting.
And on the rig, I gave a bone to each vertex of the eye lid. Now, this doesn't work when you you use automatic weights- but the secret to really precise, specific weighting of bones is to use this:
It's a bit awkward to do, but if you select the bones you want to weight in pose mode, go out of pose mode (but with the armature still selected), then select the mesh, then go into weight paint mode, then weights, and assign from bone envelopes, the selected bones will be weighted based on the bone envelopes.
I think next head I model, I'll take a similar approach with the eyes.
