I'm drowning in course work and it looks like I won't have time to do anything meaningful.

Idk sometimes I consider quitting the patreon thing because I don't think I'll ever be in a position/skill level to deliver reasonable value. I feel like I build up a tiny bit of momentum, then I lose it because I can't work on anything for weeks/months.

Maybe next week will be less heavy but jfc there's quite a lot of reading/assignments this week >_>

Sorry for how slow everything is...

Let me tell you I've been through about every new furry games that has come out and yours has genuinely made me happy and the fact it wasn't even finished and it brought someone joy shows that it has potential. I hope you can bust through the hard work and can come out on top, but don't rush yourself just to make people happy

Jade

dont quit patreon! people are still excited to see ur wonderful creations! we all understand how tough it can be to keep things consistent, and at least i will support you anyways 💕

Jade

also youre saying you dont have SKILL??? have you SEEN your work? its amazing and youre the best 💖

I think a lot of people, myself included, mostly see Patreon as a way to support artists and less about a reward system. Also, if you're concerned about consistency, you could change your subscriptions to be payment once-per-creation instead of monthly

Take your time!! Life's got bumps, but the point of Patreon income is to help smooth it out<3

Thank you! I appreciate that. I want to do more game dev soon, like actually make the new/improved systems for a point and click in GMS2... after this animation is done. By then I should be decently good enough at animation to animate the characters well enough~

velocirection

That's a good idea, though skimming through the settings I couldn't find an option to change it to once-per-creation... though at this point it would be the ideal way to go.

Thank you! It just like... this is one of the few things in life that brings me any sense of joy or satisfaction. So I get moody when I "waste" all my time at work or doing school assignments... though I suppose those aren't really wastes of time but like, I don't feel like I'm accomplishing anything.

marenoodles

Huh that's weird. I know it's possible because I'm subscribed to some creators that charge per creation. Sadly I don't have any experience with setting it up myself

This might be helpful: https://support.patreon.com/hc/en-us/articles/115000118666-Change-how-I-charge-my-patrons

velocirection

Yeah I saw that page- sadly I can't switch as awhile ago I went to "charge upfront" because I had a lot of people (well not *a lot* but like, more than a few) who became patrons but immediately after canceled >_> though now the issue is I have difficulty keeping patrons as these days I don't have much to offer besides updates and models. That or maybe I'm not making the kind of stuff that makes people want to stick around? Or I don't make enough stuff (if I could make more stuff, I would!) To be clear, I'm not trying to dog on anyone for cancelling their thing. If anything, it indicates that I need to do something differently, something more enticing, but I haven't figured out what that is yet! I feel like having models that are ready for use in sfm/VRchat or something would be cool not only as a patreon thing but also so others could more easily use them! But sfm and VRchat aren't something I know anything about and idk if I should invest the time in learning them or not.
