Plant Lamp Double VIP sneak peek (Patreon)

Hey hi folks! I wanted to share something from the upcoming print version of Plant Lamp: the Double VIP names at the back of the book! At the top of the thank-you page will be the three "extra stylish" names above; it was something Aura helped me workshop, and I'm so glad it's what I went with for the final pledge tier of the kickstarter.

Ever since drawing up the field names in my notes during those La-Mulana 2 streams, I've fallen back in love with doodling elaborate names—it's something I hadn't done since I was a kid, just about! And gosh do I adore doing it. So here are the three names that the backers requested, in their chosen styles: plant-like, refined, and shiny! (Each also asked for a custom doodle, which I did my best to sketch out.)

I used to draw a lot during school, in the margins of my notebooks and such. I always used pencils, but shifted to pens during my graphic design bachelor's degree since that was what I had on hand at the time. So I got used to doing a lot of art directly in ink, which was nerve-wracking but also led me to come up with creative ways to patch up mistakes. Going back to a big ol' turnip brush in Clip Studio Paint was a lot of fun when making these names! I want to find more opportunities to mess around like this, it really made me feel good about my art all over again. <3
