Patreon sales tax update (Patreon)

Hey hi folks! I just wanted to give you all a quick heads-up regarding the sales tax changes that Patreon is going to implement starting July 1st. Today they released the creator-side tools that let us indicate which benefits are included in each tier, along with their relative value, and I just got done setting everything up.

(In case you missed it, to comply with laws they're going to start charging sales tax on pledges in more locations soon. They've already been charging it in the EU for years now, so this doesn't apply to folks there.)

Patreon says this should affect less than half of all patrons, and those affected should only be charged a very small amount in taxes. A lot of the stuff included in my tiers specifically—early videos, access to the Discord server, general support—is exempt from taxes most of the time, and the things that are taxable make up a very small portion of the actual pledge (considering many rewards, like light novel downloads, are spread out over multiple months).

I did my best to indicate to Patreon how much of what benefit goes into each pledge and save you all as much money as possible. Hopefully this change will be a pretty tiny one!
