Just thought I'd share a few horror comics I got recently while perusing my local comic store. I'd seen some pages of "The Howling" comic online and was a little intrigued. So I picked issue one up and I gotta say, so far I'm interested in seeing where it goes! The story is intriguing, picking up exactly where the movie left off, and the art so far is pretty damn good.

The other werewolf one, Jughead: The Hunger, seems pretty interesting too. I'll prolly pick up the second issue next time I'm in. It's kind of a slow burn but had a good cliffhanger.

The REAL deal though is Vampironica. I've been keeping my eye on that one for awhile and it was just released last Wednesday. The artist, Greg Smallwood, has such an awesome style that I really enjoy. You should check out his page if you haven't heard of him before. http://gregsmallwood.tumblr.com/

If anybody has any other good horror comics they think I should check out, let me know! Always looking for good inspiration and research material to better my own work. :)

It may not be your cup of tea, but there have been quite a few comics highlighted by maletf.blogspot.com.

Based on your recommendation, I bought issue 1 of Vampironica. It's so weird that Archie Comics is now one of the main horror venues! I read a graphic novel where Josie & The Pussycats were also vampires and their series about Sabrina has some of the most out-there ideas about witches I've seen in a comic.

hey awesome! :D glad I could spark your curiosity. It is weird, I didn't even know much about Archie comics but I welcome the horror universes they have! I'll have to keep my eye out for the witch one you're talking about.
