Hi!

After some rough times we're back. Payments are still paused but i'll turn them on once i actually release something.

What can you expect for v0.9?
Mostly focusing on making rival companies more integrated into the game.

Main goal is to make each playthrough a bit different so you don't autopilot.

At the start all niches are covered apart from few (randomized).
Now one strategy is to tap into them and start building your company without interfering with your rivals too much.
If RNG wasn't on your side and free tags are hard to get or you just don't want them, well you need to rethink and start increasing market share without pissing off your rival too much.
You can straight up start sabotaging their servers, taking their stars and so on but they'll return the favor.
Lower your website subscription prices and attract more people while making your competition angry.

You can visit porn conventions, win awards, shoot high quality scenes and build your reputation & ms that way.


Each rival also has what you could call paranoia and companies with low values wont care at all what you do and don't perceive you as a threat while others will be on high alert by you just existing. This is so they don't react the same way in each playthrough.

So you can do it slow and steady or be aggressive with price dumping, deceptive marketing, sabotaging...

Now another not yet implemented idea is to include CEOs of those companies. You could get info on them and exploit it. For example one likes specific country, well why dont we take him there...
You're good buddies with one CEO? Why don't you suggest to form cartels and start crashing the third rival.

I'd also like to mix up the policies and make them locked for 3 months. While I don't want to make decisions permanent, at least we have to live with them for some time.
Want to ignore websites, cams and photostudio and just continue publishing on net battling piracy? Well with certain policy combinations you'll be able to.
Like RPG builds with unlimited respecs.

Ideally, all ways of making money should be viable IF you specialize into them. Or spread around and be decent in all of them. 


I also have some catching up to do, so you can expect many of the suggestions/bugfixes you've dished out in the last 2 months.

just wanted to say i have loved your work since I first tried it out back a v.12 or something like that. this has been one of the most addictive games I have ever played, and I always look forward to where it goes from where it is. Thank you for all you do!

Something for everyone here; lots of choices.

Not a big fan of the new "consistency" mechanic. It's too abstract as implemented and challenging to manage and, as someone who has worked in marketing, while I understand the intention of managing consumer expectations and maintaining brand image, it's pretty trivial to address with additional/sub branding: introduce tiered premium/discount labels etc (e.g. Platinum/Gold/Silver series or amateur/fetish1/fetish2 series). You even introduced mechanics that sort of acknowledge the practice of maintaining multiple brands/specialized websites through the acquisition of competitors (most of whom specialize) to absorb their market share (that market share is linked to a brand, which would often be maintained, at least for a while, to retain existing customers).

tl;dr : Very common for a single company to create/maintain several different brands/trademarks to avoid undesirable consumer confusion that the "consistency" mechanic is intended to simulate. Please either remove the mechanic or make it more manageable (such as by allowing sub-brands with separate marketing characteristics & consistency mechanics so that a company isn't heavily penalized for expanding into new markets; a fundamental aspect of business development).

Yes, he posted on the discord a couple days ago talking about some major changes to how the company leveling system works to make it more interesting. Dev version coming "soon".
