Someone asked for a map and I do happen to have one. (Generated well in advance while I was planning out the story.)

So here it is. The map.

Of the world.

A world I have yet to name.

Question, do you have someone who does art work for you? Regardless, do you know where someone could look at artwork of your characters?

I don't have any artwork for the new series currently. If it's not here on the Patreon it doesn't exist.

So, the Great Eastern Sea is between Lindholm and the Elven continent. I'm betting that the item William is going diving for the mithril core of an airship(s) that was famously lost in a battle or accident over open ocean and thus couldn't be salvaged. This is the only item I can think of that William would know the location of in the ocean, and would be of immense apparent value to Tala, to the point that she would be willing to risk her betrothal. Gunpowder would just be too much of an unknown to her, especially if William is planning to use it as a surprise in the fight itself. The core(s) would also serve as a replacement to the Blackstone alliance for his mother. The scandal of the fight itself happening would soon be overshadowed by the prestige he gets from winning it and the increased combat power from the recovery of the core(s), especially since the new airships and shards would be under direct Ashfield control, rather than on loan from a new ally. Also, since William would be the one recovering the core, he could possibly insist that it be used to construct a dedicated shard carrier as a condition to handing it over. However, if there are multiple cores, also he could decide to trade them to the royals in exchange for the abolishment of slavery. After all, it seems that the main reason that happened yet is because the traditionalist nobles are currently at military parity with the royalist fleet. The introduction of several new royalist airships of the line, possibly including paradigm shifting carriers, would definitely tip the scales in the Royal's favor. That would be too easy though, and you already said that will's plan is blackmailing the royals, not allying with them, so I truly have no idea what your actual ideas are.

Beta readers have it - and once more it's a chunky beast at 5000.

what do the different colors in lindholm represent? duchies?

bluefishcake

Just so. Summerfield Blackstone Southshore Royal New Haven ...And a lone city that has yet to be named.

Justin Cox

You could always name it "Your grave!"

Some more meat on the bone in the lore department would be appreciated. If these are continent sized land masses these duchies are huge with possibly hundreds of counts, barons, etc. under them. A history and geography class chapter would be neat. Thank you.
