AEW announces 2 Pittsburgh shows & thoughts (Patreon)

AEW is coming back to the Petersen Events Center for two LIVE broadcasts Wed, Aug 11 (Dynamite) and Fri, Aug 13 (Rampage). 

Premiere Tickets go on-sale THIS FRIDAY, June 25 at 10am Eastern.

Last time they were in Pittsburgh they drew 6,000. They will be selling a combo pair for these 2 shows (which is smart and makes a lot of sense). Running the same building 2 times in a row is a bold strategy but I like it. I heard rumblings of another show in the spot of the 11th Dynamite and am glad that was changed and most would have not loved it. Dave Meltzer reported Pittsburgh as the debut for Rampage a few weeks back (also something I heard around then). I wonder what kind of discount they get when they do the same building twice in a row? We're going to find out how many Britt Baker fans there are soon enough. I'll be tracking it all.

I don’t expect them to beat the first crowd but they will probably still do well. It’s a good test for Britt who’s unapologetically from Pittsburgh, even as her character evolved and grown.

Brittsburgh! In fairness, I didn’t expect AEW to beat Cedar Park Texas from the last time they were there, but they’re about to beat it with this year’s Fyter Fest and pretty handily in paid attendance too. So some of these markets might do better the second time, and that’s before hitting the West Coast, which is crazy to think about.
